Udaipur Trip: 3 Days Itinerary

Udaipur is the most sought-after destination for tourists all around the world. The city is full of historical places and natural beauty. Here is your 3-day itinerary as a solo traveller to explore the city of lakes, Udaipur.


Day 1: Udaipur

City Palace

  1. Jagdish Temple
    • The temple's spiritual aura and the intricate craftsmanship on display make it a must-visit for both devotees and architecture enthusiasts.
  2. City Palace
    • The City Palace Complex & the City Palace Museum, is Udaipur's star attraction. It's the largest palace complex in Rajasthan and provides incredible insight into the life of the royal family. Time to explore around 3 hours
  3. Lake Pichola
    • A boat ride through Lake Pichola is a magical sight and a picture perfect moment.
  4. Bagore Ki Haveli
    • This historic mansion has been transformed into a museum that showcases the artifacts, costumes, and traditions of Rajasthan. The evening cultural performances featuring folk dances and puppet shows add a touch of liveliness to the experience.
  5. Gangaur Ghat
    • Also the sunset and sunrise from the Ganguar Ghat is heavenly. It is a treat for all the photo capturing maniacs, as one can capture the beauty of old city in one frame.

Day 2: Udaipur

On this day, you can explore other places in Udaipur and spend your day in this beautiful city. The places you can cover are as follows: Fateh Sagar Lake

  1. Ahar Cenotaphs & Museum
    • Cenotaphs are a small tomb-like structure built in honor of kings, queens, and people of crucial importance. These Cenotaphs of Ahar are created to mark the valor and bravery of kings of Mewar.
  2. Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary
    • Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary in Udaipur is one of the best places to experience and witness a variety of flora and fauna living harmoniously in the human-made habitat.
  3. Sajjangarh Palace
    • The palace was built to watch the monsoon clouds, hence its nickname "Monsoon Palace." The sunset views from this vantage point are simply breathtaking and offer a different perspective of Udaipur's beauty
  4. Fatehsagar Lake
    • The Fateh Sagar Lake is an artificial lake and one of the top tourist attractions in Udaipur.
    • The lake comprises three small islands and the largest of all is Nehru Park, which is quite popular amongst tourists.
    • The second island also houses a park and the third one has Udaipur Solar Observatory (USO). The stunning Fateh Sagar Lake was built by Maharana Jai Singh in 1678 AD, but it was washed away during the flood. Later, Maharana Fateh Singh built the Connaught Dam on the lake and then it was named after him.

Day 3: Udaipur

On the last day of the trip, you can cover these places in Udaipur. Vintage Car Museum

  1. Vintage & Classic Car Museum
    • If you love cars and more specifically vintage ones, this is the right stop to make.
  2. Shilpgram
    • It contains lifestyle, history, and art of rural and tribal people of Rajasthan. One can witness various art and crafts inside. If you are here at the time of December, visit the Shilpgram Utsav.
  3. Badi Lake
    • Built by Maharana Jai Singh, this lake was constructed in the 1600s Surrounded by the Aravalli range, the sunset in this lake is worth watching.
  4. Tibetan Market
    • The tibetan market in the city functions only during winter season, and has stalls featuring clothing mostly.
