Day 1 : The historic village of Khonoma with all it’s offerings awaits you

Khonoma

  • Location: Dimapur, Naga Hills, Khonoma
  • Meeting Point: Dimapur in the morning
  • Travel Duration: Approximately 3 hours to Khonoma
  • Activities:
    • Explore Khonoma village on foot
    • Experience "Asia’s first Green Village"
    • Learn about terraced farming
    • Enjoy the freshness of flowers and vegetables
    • Optional vegetable harvesting
    • Walk to a nearby stream
  • Evening Plan: Return home by sunset, cook dinner with harvested vegetables

Day 2 : Explore a pristine village home to only 35 houses

Khonoma View

  • Early Start: A day in Khonoma typically begins early, with locals having breakfast by 4 am. While you don't need to be that early, we recommend starting your day by 7 am.
  • Heritage Walk: Embark on a heritage walk led by local experts to discover the history and culture of the Angami tribe.
  • Local Customs: Learn about the local customs, including the significance of woodwork and bamboo weaving.
  • Vernacular Architecture: Explore "morungs" and other forms of vernacular architecture.
  • Visit Dzüleke: After your time in Khonoma, make your way to Dzüleke, a charming village just an hour's drive away.
  • Explore Dzüleke: Delight in the natural beauty of Dzüleke, with activities such as forest bathing, waterfall hikes, and sampling traditional brews.

Day 3 : Explore the capital before you make your way to your Homestay in Jakhama

Kohima War Memorial

  • Explore Kohima the hilly capital of Nagaland:
    • Visit the only World War II memorial in the region.
    • Discover the Naga people's involvement in the war and its local impact.
    • Enjoy the local eateries and shopping in Kohima.
  • Prepare for the upcoming trek:
    • After lunch, head to Kigwema for a short walk to familiarize yourself with the village.

Day 4 : Prepare to be amazed by Dzükou Valley

Dzukou Valley

  • Destination: Dzükou Valley
  • Location: Shared by Nagaland and Manipur
  • Scenic Beauty: Stunning landscapes, often compared to "Valley of Flowers"
  • Trek: Strenuous trek to reach the valley
  • Camping: Set up tents at an ideal spot

    • Return journey to the plains of Dimapur.
