Jodhpur - The Sun City

A place which has pure heritage, perfect combination of culture and colour, food and festivities. Also popularly called as the Sun City or the Blue City, set in the stark landscape of Thar Desert

Day 1

Jodhpur is well connected by air, train and road transport. If you're traveling from Mumbai, would suggest to travel by train. It's a very different experience all together 😍

Day 2

The Blue City has got a brand new look with colorful and artistic paintings all over. The walls and ceilings of the railway station have been painted with Rajasthani motifs and are adorned with eye catching 'Pabuji ki Phad paintings'.

Situated approx 70kms from Jodhpur, Osiyan temple is amongst the oldest Jain temple and amongst the few built within the lifetime of Lord Mahavir Swami himself. Seek blessings of Osian Mata and Lord Mahavir Swami when you visit.

Day 3

Acknowledged as one of the best reserved forts in India. The name has been derived from Sanskrit words - Mihir (Sun) and garh (fort) i.e. Sun Fort. Mihirgarh has now changed to Mehrangarh. One of the best forts to visit when in Jodhpur.

Place

Most of the houses in Jodhpur's old city is blue colored. Some people say that blue houses is associated to Brahmins whereas some say it's due to hot summer to keep the keep the houses cool.

When you think of popular food from fabulous city of Jodhpur then pyaaz ki kachori and mirchi vade comes to mind immediately. Enjoy the local delicacies whilst street walking in the old market at the main city.

Day 4

Worship

The Rajasthan's Golden Temple - locally known as Swarna Mandir. Falna, in Pali district of Rajasthan is well known for its Golden Temple dedicated to Lord Parshvanath, the 23rd Tirthankar. Its said to be spectacular and one of the finest Jain temple.
