Kalsubai trek

Trek to the highest peak of Maharashtra. Kalsubai peak is 1646m above sea level and it's called the Everest of Maharashtra.

Day 1

We were around 8-10 friends from Mumbai decided to trek Kalsubai peak on Holi. We left from Mumbai around 10.30pm, got the Kasara local from Dadar and reached at 2am in the night.

We had pre booked our jeep to the base village Bari, which is around 1.30hrs from Kasara railway station. We reached our base village at 3.30am and had tea and some snacks.

The trek to Kalsubai peak takes around 3-4hours depending upon your fitness level. It passes through forest and there are steep climbs in between. Metal stairs have been constructed for the ease of trekkers. Beware of monkeys!

After enjoying the view from the top, we decided to descend to the base village before it starts getting hot in the day. We reached the base village within 3 hours and then had our lunch in a village house, authentic Maharashtrian thali.

At around 2pm we reached Kasara from Bari village, and then we took the next train to Mumbai. We all were tired and slept through out the train journey. Conquered Kalsubai 👍✨
