Kedarkantha Trek
Summited the Kedarkantha peak from base village in a single day
Day 1
Bus
Boarded UTC bus at around 10 for Rs 520 per person till Dehradun. From DD Railway Station boarded second bus towards Sankri (Rs 365 pp). After a journey of 7-8 hours reached the place.
Day 2
Trek
Started the Trek around 4:30 AM from Sankri and after hiking about 6.5-7 km made it to Juda ka Talaab by 7 AM.
Crossed the Hargaon campsite and covered about 3-4 km to reach Kedarkantha Base Camp (3415 m) at 9 AM. The climb was a bit strenuous and one if going alone/without experience can get lost so don't try any such stunt here.
Now the climb got real good, with possibly the best views you'll experience. If going Solo carry - Dark Chocolate, Juice, Parle G, Nuts, Jaggery, Paranthas, 1L water bottle (2)
Mountain
Reached Kedarkantha Peak (3810 m) at 1 PM. We were surrounded by clouds on all sides, thus couldn't get beautiful views of the 6000m peaks. Cost incurred - Rs 300 pp.
Trek
Took us about 7.5 hrs to reach the start point of the trek, Sankri. Total time taken to undertake the trek - 14.5 hrs.
