History : Kothaligad Fort (also known as Fort of Peth) is situated in Karjat. It dates back to the 18th century. With an elevation of 3100ft it is a small Fort 5.5km in distance from the trekking route
We organised our trek through a Trekking group. They made arrangements of bus and food. We began our journey from Mumbai and it took 4 hours to reach Karjat. On reaching we had breakfast in a local restaurant and we were briefed by our guide.
We began our trek at the base and could soon hear the rhythm of flowing waterfall. The beautiful rains along with a misty blanket welcomed us into a serene view. At the first checkpoint, we could see the entire panorama of the mountain range.
2 hours into the trek we reached the fort. To go on top we had to climb tall stairs. After reaching the top we saw a breathtaking view of the Sahyadri range and we were surrounded by clouds
On the way back the fog had settled on our route and the descend was aesthetic and moody. It was the perfect condition for awesome photos. And we travelled back to home with adventurous memories
