Do you know there exists a Mewar fortress also known as the Great Wall of India? Let me take you through the third-longest wall of the world after Great Wall of China and Great Wall of Gorgan of Iran.

Kumbhalgarh does not have an airport but is well connected by road to Udaipur. Nearest railhead is Falna which is well connected to major cities in India. The town is connected to Udaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur and Pushkar by state buses also.

Kumbhalgarh - the crowning glory of Rajasthan is a UNESCO World Heritage site but what stands out is its outer rampart snaking through the folds of the earth. The beautiful fort near Udaipur in Rajasthan was built by Rana Kumbha, the ruler of Mewar.

There is a magnificent array of temples built by the Mauryas of which the most picturesque place is the Badal Mahal or the palace of the clouds. The fort also offers a superb bird's eye view of the surroundings.

The fort's massive wall stretches approx 36 kms with a width enough to take 8 horses abreast. The fort's large compound has very interesting ruins and a walk around it can be very educative.
