Day 1

Bus

Explored Delhi in the morning and then boarded the HRTC bus to Shimla from Delhi late evening. We reached Shimla early morning around 4 a.m. and explored Shimla for a day

Day 2

After spending a day at Shimla exploring food places around the mall road, we boarded the HRTC bus to Reckong Peo that evening. During this journey, we passed through amazing Kinnaur Valley.

Day 3

Due to unavoidable circumstances, we had reached Peo at 11:30 AM. In whatever time we had through the day, we started exploring the beautiful local parts of Sangla Valley followed with buckwheat fields, Raksham village and the beautiful Chitkul.

Place

Day 4

Bus

After spending a beautiful morning time at Reckong Peo, we went ahead with our journey. We took the routine HRTC bus from Peo to Kaza. We stopped at Nako for sometime and reached Tabo. We spent the day at Tabo and had an overnight stay.

Day 5

Tabo

 to 

Kaza

Bus

After spending and amazing and peaceful time at Tabo, we again started our journey to beautiful Kaza known for its colorful festivals and monasteries.

Place

The village of Langza is known for two things...one the statue of mighty Buddha overlooking the beautiful valley and second fossils.

Famed as 'Eye of a snow cock' (Ko – snow-cock, mic – eye). Lundup Tsemo Gompa Buddhist Monastery is especially alluring. The monastery houses the ‘Maitreya Buddha’ (Future Buddha).

Day 6

Kaza

 to 

Mud

Car

A green patch of land among the deserted mountains of Spiti is something which is amazing to visit. Mud village is one of the remotest village of Pin Valley.

Place

A large high village which used to be the capital of the Spiti Valley. Dhankar Monastery and Dhankar lake is must visit. We returned to Kaza and stayed there overnight.

Day 7

We boarded the 5 AM HRTC bus from Kaza the next morning and headed towards Chandratal

Place

The scenic bus route caught our eye on the most peaceful and soothing village, Losar. Losar is the last village of the Spiti valley. Losar Village or Lossar is a beautiful, peaceful and a soothing village for a 1 day halt while going to Chandratal.

Kunzum La - the high mountain pass After Losar, the next stop was Kunzum La. Kunzum Pass is a high mountain pass in the eastern Kunzum Range of the Himalayas. It connects Lahaul and Spiti.

Chandratal Lake in Spiti Valley is considered to be one of the most beautiful lakes in Himachal Pradesh. A trip to Chandratal would mean a mix of adventure and raw, desolate nature.

Day 8

Wild like wind in the tall pine trees, I got roots and I got wings 😌 Took the HRTC bus from Chandertal towards Manali early morning at 9 AM. We reached Manali and explored the local areas. And here is where our Spiti journey came to an end.

We took the HRTC bus from Manali to Delhi. 'Take me back' was the only statement I made at the end of this trip 😂
