We had booked an overnight train from Rameswaram to Thanjavur. I was already eager to see the mighty Temple, Thanjavur is famous for as I am admirer of the vast Chola dynasty.
We got down at the station to reach the hotel we had booked near the temple. We took our keys, freshened up and got ready for the sightseeing. Temple is located in the main city so you can easily reach there and utilize the open hours for sightseeing

It took us a couple of hours to see the whole art and architecture of the Marvel of Chola empire. It was true to the hype, such a huge thing built in those days. Every structure was intricately designed and built. We saw everything before we moved
Sight Seeing
I would suggest if you are a traveller then a day would be enough to explore major things around Thanjavur. After exploring Brihadeshwara temple we moved to eat something and explore the market area around. Some dolls with dancing head were famous.
