Torna fort is just 65km from pune. You can go by your own vehicle or by public transport. For public transport, buses are easily available from swargate bus stand for vehle village which is the base village of torna fort

Before starting the trek, have lunch at the base. Dont miss the authentic maharatrian thali of hotel torna vihar.

Trekking

This is an easy to medium level trek. Perfect for beginners. It will take 3 to 4 hours to reach the top. If you are going in monsoon use proper trekking shoes and in summer carry plenty of water and energy drinks with you.

There is a temple at the top. You can relax and sit there. You will find some fresh water ponds near the temple, you can use it for drinking and to get refreshed. As you get refreshed start walking towards budhala machi to get sunset.

Budhala Machi is an extension of fort. Here you will arrive at the Konkan Darwaja of the fort. From Budhla machi I've witnessed the best sunset of my life. Sit quietly, feel the joy of the cold mountain air and collect the memories for lifetime.

Wake up as early as possible and start trekking towards zunjar machi. (Another extension of the fort). From here you will get the best view of sunrise. Go in post monsoon month to get a view of amazing cloud bed.

Torna trek is indeed one of the best treks in Maharashtra. You can go in every month. But the best time for a torna trek is between September and October. Don't litter the fort, it has Historical significance. Be a responsible trekker. Happy Trekking
