Day 1

The plan was of 30 - 31 - 1st - 2nd covering Dehradun, Mussoorie & Dhanolti. Took train to Dehradun with family.

The late 1800s Robber's Cave is used by robbers to hide from the British. Due to the natural and local condition of this cave, it was easiest for the robbers to hide here. It is also known as Gucchu Pani and is about 8 km from Dehradun.

Day 2

Market

Took taxi to Mussoorie from our stay in Dehradun. Enjoyed roaming around in Mall Road with Ice Cream in one hand. The heat was on but we weren't any less determined to reach the Gun Hill.

Mountain

A historical and second highest peak of Mussoorie, Gun Hill is favourite place for viewing picturesque Himalayan range and Doon Valley. A popular view point of Mussoorie, Gun Point is located at 400 ft. It is also accessible by a cable car.

Company Garden is a colourful garden located at 3 km from the mall road. It is also known as "Municipal Garden" or "Company Bagh".

Waterfall

Amazing place to be with family. But avoid rush times for own safety and more pleasant experience.

Day 3

Car

Beautiful drive with amazing views to the quaint place called Dhanolti.

Forest

Eco Park in Dhanaulti is a newly developed park by the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) and citizens of Dhanaulti, which houses the deodar trees. Fee: Rs 20 pp (takes about 2-3 hrs to explore).

Did my first rock climbing by myself in this adventure park near the Eco Park. Amazing, thrilling and fun filled experience at this place for family/friends.

Day 4

The Forest Research Institute of India, popularly called as FRI Dehradun is an architectural marvel and vast collection of forestry related items in its six museums, Fee: Rs 10 pp (opens at 9 AM), 30 mins from ISBT Dehradun.

Located near Clement Town, in Dehradun, this monastery was setup by Khochhen Rinpoche and small group of monks in Uttarakhand state, India. It contains Ngagyur Nyingma College, a very famous Buddhist college in India.
