Backwaters of Poovar
This was my favourite backwaters trip with friends. Loved the stay and every inch of the property we stayed at.
Water Sports
We started our journey to kovalam, where we had booked a one day stay at the beautiful The Raviz. The journey was a bit tiring but with lots of enthusiasm to visit the backwaters we heard a lot about.
Activity
We checked into the property, it was indeed beautiful with an infinity pool, garden, cafeteria, spacious rooms and all other facilities. We hung out there for a day and relaxed our senses and enjoyed ourselves.

We reached Poovar house boat club from where we had booked a house boat for ourselves. You can easily book boats according to your budget. It will show you around the backwaters including 3-4 spots and a few hours halt at an island if you wish to.

The backwaters harbour a variety of flora & fauna. It is a marshy island with submerged trees & plants. It is an enticing experience to move in between the forest. Some places were dark and others were spooky. A pretty good location for pictures.

It takes a few hours for the whole activity. If you want to stay at the backwaters you can book a beautiful property. Our boat man also told us 30% of Anaconda movie shooting had been done in Poovar backwaters. Glad to know this trivia.

After the wonderful experience of the backwaters, it was time for us to get back to Kovalam with lots of enticing experience and memories. We came back to our resort and relaxed for the rest of the day. Do visit Poovar backwaters on priority.
