Bali Pass

The raw grandeur of a Himalayan pass crossing, Connecting Har Ki Dun valley with Yamunotri.

Day 1

Bus

We started our adventures trek by reaching Dehradun. As we have to reach all the way to Sankri, we catch up the bus from Dehradun bus stand in morning 8 AM and by 5:30 PM we reached Sankri.

Day 2

Sankri

 to 

Taluka

Car

We woke up early in the morning had our breakfast and get ready for a drive to Taluka which was around 12 Kms from Sankri. The drive took us through pine forest and the beautiful views.

Trekking

As soon as we reached Taluka, we started our Trek to Osla village, we had to cover 11 kms on this day and the trail descends to the river valley of Supin and continues through a series of forests on your left as the river remains on your right.

Camping

After a long day of trek, we camped 3 kms beyond from the Seema village which is Osla, Due to unavailability of any campsite. We had our snacks and dinner and rested for the day in the abandoned wooden house.

Day 3

Trek

We had our breakfast and started to trek to our next destination.From the point the valley was divided into two, one goes through Har ki doon and another to Bali pass.The 13 kms of trek took us through Ruinsara forest and the trail ascends from here.

We pitched the tents near the stream of the Tamsa river and with the view of the Har ki doon valley the place looks much beautiful. We had our soups and snacks and after the dinner we rest for the day

Day 4

We started to trek late in the morning as we had to cover little distance. The trail is followed by the Tamsa river to the right and few kms into the valley crossing the boulder section we enter the dense birch trees. The train ascends from here.

We pitched our tents near the Ruinsara Lake, the lake was surrounded by the meadows with the view of Swargarohini Peak in the background which makes the place to camp even more beautiful. In the evening we stroll near the lake and clicked pictures.

Day 5

It's was a kind of small trek as this day is the acclimatization day but one was the beautiful trek of all the days, the trek took us through the open valley with the rhododendron flower all around.

Day 6

The trek started as a steep ascend with the Swargarohini Peak in the background. It become quite more difficult with the hard snow and took us around 8 hours to reach the ABC.

With lot of snow all around and upto the knees we pitched our tents with the views of big mountains infront of us and with a good luck we get to see the snowfall at the same time which make the conditions quite difficult although it was fun.

Day 7

We started our Trek early in the morning and the climb to the Bali pass summit took us around 2 hours due to heavy snow and scissor pattern walk on the ridge.Post reaching the summit we enjoyed the 360° view of Ruinsara and Yamnotri.

The view from summit was something like the words can't describe, it was unimaginable to be at a height of 16000 ft. Post reaching the summit we spend some time and started to descend for Lower Dhamini, which was the most difficult part of the trek.

Day 8

Worship

As our trek last stop was Yamnotri which is the one of the most famous Pilgrim and one of the Char Dhams, we visited the shrine early in the morning, took the hot spring bath and visited the temple.

Car

After visiting the temple we trekked to Jann ki chatti from where the trek to Yamnotri starts. We had our breakfast and booked the cab to reach the dehradun. With lots of memories and with some new friends we finished our trip.
