Bhimbetka & Sanchi Stupa

Day 1

This trip was organized by TTrikon group based in Mumbai. We all gathered at CSMT and took the Punjab Mail train at 7:35pm. We ordered dinner by IRCTC & enjoyed the night. We reached Bhopal next morning at 9:45 am and went to our hotel to freshen up

Day 2

After freshening up, we had our breakfast and left for Shiv Mandir at Bhojpur. There was a huge Shivling inside which is said to be largest Shivling in India.

We then visited Bhimbetka Rock Shelters. This place shows the early traces of human life in India. It is approx 45km away from Bhopal. It is a UNESCO world heritage site that has seven hills and 750 rock shelters. Cave Paintings are still there

We had late lunch while on the way to Bhopal city at a local hotel and later spent the evening in the market area. We did some shopping and had a long walk near the lake. It was a pleasent evening. We ordered dinner at the hotel.

Day 3

Bhopal

Sanchi

Bus

Next morning, we left for Sanchi. We visited the famous historic place Sanchi Stupa. It is approx 46 km from Bhopal. It is one of the oldest stone structure. This is also depicted on the Indian currency note of ₹200. The architecture is mind blowing

Next we went to Udaigiri caves. There are 20 rock cut caves here and has some of the oldest Hindu temples. It is 16km away from Sanchi

Our train was delayed, so we decided to visit Taj Ul Masjid. It is said to be the crown amongst the mosques. It is a very huge and beautiful mosque and is also known as Jama Masjid

Lastly, we re visited the Upper lake and had the speed boat experience. We witnessed the most beautiful sunset and were very sad to leave. After this, we left for Bhopal station to catch our train back to Mumbai

We took the Punjab Mail from Bhopal station at 8:30pm as the train was delayed and reached mumbai next day at 1pm. It was an amazing trip especially because of an amazing group. These places should be added to your bucket list
