Chitkul - India's last Village

Nestled in the picturesque Kinnaur Valley, Famously known as the last inhabited village on the Indo-Tibet Border.

Day 1

Bus

We took bus from ISBT Kashmiri gate, which starts at around 8 PM and took us through the route from Shimla. The bus journey takes around 18 hours to reach Sangla, but due to some exceptions we reach Sangla in 24 hours.

Day 2

As soon as we reach Sangla(8 PM) next day, We found the baspa Guest House for our stay for the night which is just around 300 metres from Sangla bus stand(Just as you cross the bridge), it cost as around 600 rupee for a day.

Day 3

Mountain

After the good sleep, Early next morning we went to explore the unexplored Sangla, we explored some path which took us directly to the mountains through the apple orchids.

Car

It was Sunday, after exploring Sangla we were prepared to go to Chitkul by bus, But we came to know that no bus leaves from Sangla on Sunday, So we had to hitchhike by car which cost us around 500 for 2 person, and it took us around 2 hours to reach.

Mountain

As soon as we reached Chitkul, we were in awe after seeing surreal landscape, the most beautiful village I had ever seen. "If escapism is your choice of travel drug, let me assure you, a trip to Chitkul will not disappoint you".

We decided to take the guest house for our stay in Chitkul. The guest house named "Rani Guest house" which cost us around 550 Rupee per night and at a distance of half kilometre from Aakri Dhabam

Restaurant

The famous picture doing the rounds on the internet when we look up Chitkul is – Hindustan ka aakhri dhaba(Which is actually not last now) was always on our list. We had the special thali for lunch and Maggi too.

After Lunch, we walked down to the banks of the Baspa river,The crystal clear water keeps us enthralled. On a bright, sunny day, we spent an entire afternoon just mulling about life and thinking how inconsequential our daily life issues are.

Day 4

Bus

Next day we took an early bus from chitkul which leaves around 6:30 in morning and we reach the Sangla by 8 AM.
