Gangotri dham

Day 1

Journey from Delhi to Uttarkashi was undertaken in 2 parts. Delhi to Dehradun in Volvo & Dun (Rs 600) to Uttarkashi in local bus (Rs 250)

Day 2

The following day I took a shared cab (Rs 110) to Gangotri which was around 99 km.

Worship

Gangotri Dham is located at the height of 3,100 meters. A picture of serenity, the humble abode of Maa Ganga is situated by the side of Bhagirathi River. This revered temple is one of the four pilgrimages in the chota char dham circuit

Day 3

The Pandav Gufa is a mystical cave that can be accessed by commencing a short trek of 1.5 km from Gangotri Dham. Pandav Gufa is believed to be the place where Pandavas of Mahabharata meditated while they were heading to Kailash.

Day 4

Car

Day started with a good, hot lemon ginger tea and bidding good bye to the place which I promise I'll come back to soon. Travelled all the way down to Dehradun and took a Rs 300 stay close to bus stand.
