I went for a one day canoeing trip in the backwaters of Alleppey.
It started in the morning at 9am and the trip went whole day sailing on a canoe through small lanes of Alleppey backwaters passing by the locals houses.
Next day early morning after breakfast I headed north to visit Marari beach, which is less crowded and good for a swim.
It was 10km route, walked half and got a local bus. Best way to explore any place is by walk.
Just wow!
Long stretch of sand and less crowded.
Few local shacks around.
Mostly foreigners.
Went for a swim and then had local fish lunch from the shack.
Must visit place in Alleppey.
Stayed here for 2days. It's in the Fort Kochi area and near to all attraction by walk. You can hire bike and cycle to roam around this beautiful small area.
One of the major attractions in Kochi is these fishing nets that are manually operated and are stationed on the shore. Around 10-12 men in regular interval pull these giant nets and catch the fishes.
North of Fort Kochi lies and small town called Vypin. There is a ferry which is the fastest way to reach other side of the creek. Cost Rs. 3 per person its a RO-RO type ferry carrying passengers and vehicles
Time 5min
After getting off the ferry, I moved ahead to the light house which was around 6km away, couldn't get a bus so started walking.
It was too sunny so decide to hitch hike and to my surprise I got a lift till the light house. entry fee is 30rs
