An experience worth undertaking

Day 1

Bus from Delhi to Leh commenced on 3rd July and we were the first of passengers. Left Kashmere gate at 3:45 PM.

Kashmere Gate to Keylong with small halt at Manali Bus stand was a total of 19 hours journey (Delhi to Manali - 17 hrs & Manali to Keylong - 2 hrs). Reached Manali (Rs 932) - 8:45 AM Reached Keylong (Rs 155) - 12:30 PM Cost - Rs 1090

Keylong to Leh journey undertaken on 5th July. It was 19 hours long rough, adventurous journey with breathtaking views at each and every turn. Cost of ticket - Rs 600

Day 4

30 kilometres journey on scooty Sooty rent - Rs 900 Petrol - Rs 300

Guru Nakak ji was meditating at this place and a demon had thrown a big rock to obstruct his prayers but the boulder turned into soft wax that failed to harm him, seeing this the demon asked for penance for his deed and Guru Nanak ji forgave him.

This road attracts stationary vehicles upwards. When left with the engine off, a car can roll up at a speed of 20km/hr on this hill. Due to this extraordinary phenomenon, it has been given many names like ‘Mystery Hill’ and ‘Gravity Hill’

It consists of two floors and is at about 4-5 kms from Leh Market Here, you can see the various kinds of weapons used in the Kargil war, along with the various arms and ammunition captured by the Indian Army during the war

Situated at around 7 km from Leh Market. Today it is the home of 100 monks and an awe inspiring image of Mahakaal, the face of this image is kept covered and is unveiled at the annual festival of Spituk in January.

Located 20 km from Leh town. Thiksey Gompa hosts the Gustor ritual, organized from the 17th to 19th day of September. Celebrated on an annual basis the sacred mask dance is also performed during the Gustor ritual.

Beautiful ride in evening hours on a well constructed road. Covered quite many places in the day. Now our bodies craved for food and sleep :)

Day 5

Walked for about 2.3 kms to find a shared taxi, carrying on our shoulders 5 kg bags.

Adventurous journey to Hunder with crossing of the Second highest motorable road of the world, mighty Khardungla Pass.

Place where sand dunes are situated alongside water body with snowy mountains in the backdrop ❤️

Day 6

Journey to the village that was once under Pakistan. Indian Army won it in the 1971 war 💯

A magnificent and historic village where you'll come across Balti people and culture whose families members are in Pakistan.

Refreshing journey with soothing music in taxi was very relaxing and comfortable.

Day 7

Bumpy ride alongside Shyok River to the highest salt lake in the world

The most beautiful place in Ladakh without any second thoughts 😍

Day 8

Car

Crossed the Changla Pass which was one of the Highest passes in Ladakh valley ⚡

We got a bunk bed for Rs 400. The quality of hostel was top notch and food was good as well ✌️

Day 9

Once again undertook the gruesome journey with amazing passengers. Salute to the driver 💥

Bus

Took Volvo to Delhi from Manali. Really comfortable journey and rested well.
