The Cultural Capital of Karnataka! It's unskipable if you visit South India.

Day 1

Took the cab from Hotel to Banglore Railway Station for our train to Mysuru.

It took the train about 2 hrs to cover the 150 km distance. Ticket cost - Rs 250 pp and the train was Shatabdi Express chair car. Super comfortable

Our stay was located 3.5 km from Railway station. Autorickshaw took Rs 90 per Auto (hired 2). The heat was on even in the month of January, so do carry summer clothings.

Located 24 km from our stay, Brindavan Gardens are beautifully spread out on both sides of the KRS Dam. Try attending the light and sound show, the park looks real good in lights.

Place

The dam was built across the river Kaveri in 1924. It is the main source of water for the districts of Mysore. The water is used for irrigation in Mysore and Mandya, and it is the main source of drinking water for all of Mysore

Day 2

Guinness World Record Sea Shell Art Museum in Mysore which houses the Guinness World Record Sea Shell Sculpture of Lord Ganesha along with various other sea shell artifacts and different art forms.

An apt example of architectural brilliance, this palace holds immense historical prominence as well. Jaganmohan Palace used to be a retreat home for the Royal family. It's 150 years old, was constructed in 1861, during the reign of Krishnaraja Wodey

Probably the best North Indian food can be consumed at this restaurant. The rates are not on the higher end, good place for lunch and dinner for a middle class family as well.

One of the largest cathedrals in India, St. Philomena’s Cathedral in Mysuru is a remarkable example of Gothic architecture. The cathedral was built as a gift to a large number of European populations residing in Mysuru in the 19th century.
