Siri Fort Complex

Day 1

This city was build by Allaudin Khilji and is referred to as the 3rd city of Delhi. It is really hard to find the monuments, which are half broken, half intact with no clear signboard or trail that leads one to the other. Walk, ask & explore.

I parked my scooty in front of the DDA Park and entered it. From there I was headed towards the Siri Fort Park. Enroute I came across quite an old well, good 15-20 meters deep. Home to pigeons.

After crossing the Siri Fort Park, I somehow stumbled upon this Masjid in pretty bad shape and size. You can have a look at the map in order to visit it. Please don't go solo to such places.

As told by the locals, this probably used to be long pillars of the entrance to the city. With walls running left and right and this being the gate. It can best accessed from Panscheel Metro station

If you follow the narrow path shown in the maps picture. You'll grab a narrow view of this huge wall, which surely would've served them for safety purposes. Now, it's a garbage dump & surrounded completely by houses

This is the only Khalji era building located within the walls of the Siri Fort towards its western corner. The enclosure for the building is now surrounded by the Shahpurjat village and its compound is only accessible from inside the village.
